Abstract This is an expository paper embarking on the asymptotic behavior of entries inverses positive definite symmetric Toeplitz matrices as matrix dimension goes to infinity. We consider in neighborhoods four corners well density distribution over all inverse matrix.

Inverses, determinants, eigenvalues, and eigenvectors of real symmetric Toeplitz matrices with linearly increasing entries
We explicitly determine the skew-symmetric eigenvectors and corresponding eigenvalues of the real symmetric Toeplitz matrices T = T (a, b, n) := (a+ b|j − k|)1≤j,k≤n of order n ≥ 3 where a, b ∈ R, b 6= 0. The matrix T is singular if and only if c := a b = −n−1 2 . In this case we also explicitly determine the symmetric eigenvectors and corresponding eigenvalues of T . If T is regular, we explic...
متن کاملBounds for Inverses of Triangular Toeplitz Matrices
This short note provides an improvement on a recent result of Vecchio on a norm bound for the inverse of a lower triangular Toeplitz matrix with nonnegative entries. A sharper asymptotic bound is obtained as well as a version for matrices of finite order. The results are shown to be nearly best possible under the given constraints. 1. Introduction. This paper provides an improvement on a recent...
متن کاملThe Inverses of Block Hankel and Block Toeplitz Matrices
A set of new formulae for the inverse of a block Hankel (or block Toeplitz) matrix is given. The formulae are expressed in terms of certain matrix Pad6 forms, which approximate a matrix power series associated with the block Hankel matrix. By using Frobenius-type identities between certain matrix Pad6 forms, the inversion formulae are shown to generalize the formulae of Gohberg-Heinig and, in t...
متن کاملCharacterizing the inverses of block tridiagonal, block Toeplitz matrices
We consider the inversion of block tridiagonal, block Toeplitz matrices and comment on the behaviour of these inverses as one moves away from the diagonal. Using matrix Möbius transformations, we first present an O(1) representation (with respect to the number of block rows and block columns) for the inverse matrix and subsequently use this representation to characterize the inverse matrix. The...
متن کاملPositive entries of stable matrices
The question of how many elements of a real positive stable matrix must be positive is investigated. It is shown that any real stable matrix of order greater than 1 has at least two positive entries. Furthermore, for every stable spectrum of cardinality greater than 1 there exists a real matrix with that spectrum with exactly two positive elements, where all other elements of the matrix can be ...
